Burnett Two-Time Player of the Week

PALATINE, Ill. – Harper College men's basketball guard/forward Allias Burnett (Joliet, Ill. /Joliet West) added another accomplishment to his already impressive season. He was named the NJCAA Region IV Div. III Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday for a second time this season. Burnett last received the honor back on Nov. 30.

The sophomore, who is the Hawks' top scorer at 18.9 PPG, was impressive in two league games last week. He scored 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out five assists in leading the team to its first N4C win, a 74-64 triumph at Wilbur Wright College on Wednesday. In a loss to College of DuPage on Saturday, Burnett tallied a game-high 25 points and nailed 5-of-9 attempts from 3-point land. In the two contests, he averaged 25.0 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 2.5 APG, and 1.5 SPG while playing a full 40 minutes in each game.

Burnett and Hawks point guard Marcus Gatlin (Chicago, Ill./Curie) have both been named Player of the Week a combined four times out of 10 Region IV Reports. In addition, Gatlin was named the NJCAA Div. III Men's Basketball National Player of the Week last week.
