PALATINE, Ill. – After a very successful 2015 season, the Harper College women's team had five players honored by NJCAA Region IV and the North Central Community College Conference (N4C). Forwards Kassidy Kushner (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) and Danielle Reptowski (Hanover Park, Ill./Schaumburg) as well as defender Nicole Soderholm (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) were all named First Team All-Region and First Team All-Conference, and midfielder Vanessa Salazar (Stone Park, Ill./Proviso West) and defender Kristen Serviss (Huntley, Ill./Huntley) were both voted Second Team All-Region and Second Team All-Conference.

Kushner had a brilliant sophomore season for Harper.  She started all 18 games and scored an incredible 21 goals (currently eighth in nation) to go along with eight assists. The sophomore scored two or more goals six times. She had four goals on two different occasions, at Joliet Junior College on Sept. 16 and at Rochester Community and Technical College on Sept. 27.

Her most impressive feat may have been her playoff performance in the Region IV Semifinals against second-seeded and defending Region IV champion Rock Valley College. Kushner's first goal gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead, and she scored the golden goal with just 17 seconds left in the first overtime to send Harper to the Region IV Championship.

Finally, Kushner was named the NJCAA Division III National Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 14-20.

Paired with Kushner up top, Reptowski also made a huge impact in her sophomore season. The forward scored 16 goals and had a team-high nine assists in 16 games. She scored three or more goals in four matches, including a four-goal performance against Joliet. Reptowski also had two assists in a game three times. Reptowski and Kushner combined for nearly 62 percent of the team's scoring for the season.

Soderholm, who was the Hawks' goalkeeper in 2014, started 17 games and primarily played defense this season. She scored three goals and had five assists on the year. She also filled in admirably at goalie in a Sept. 19 game against Rochester. The sophomore was also a stout defender who shut down opponents' scoring attempts on a regular basis.

Salazar provided a steady presence at midfield for the Hawks. She started all 18 games and tallied three assists, nine shots, and seven shots on goal. More importantly, she provided leadership at the midfield position and opened up scoring opportunities for the forwards.

Serviss started all 18 games for Harper and played primarily midfield. Known for her powerful leg, she led the team with 83 shots (37 on goal) and was the team's primary option for kicking corner kicks. Serviss scored four goals (tied-third on team) and had seven assists (third on team) in 2015. Her most impressive games in 2015 came against Triton College.  In the first matchup with the Trojans on Sept. 23, Serviss scored twice and added an assist. On Oct. 20, Serviss scored a goal and had an assist.
