Full All-Conference Team
PALATINE, Ill. – Thanks to a successful season in which the Harper College men's soccer team post an 8-6-2 record and 5-4-1 record in conference play, four Hawks players were recently named to the North Central Community College Conference (N4C) All-Conference teams. Forward Alex Freeman (/St. Viator) and defender Allan Santiaguillo (/Buffalo Grove) were voted First Team All-Conference, and midfielder Juan Hernandez (Wheeling, Ill./Wheeling) and goalkeeper Irvin Velazquez (/Hersey) were voted Second Team All-Conference.
Freeman led the Hawks with eight goals and added four assists in 15 games. He scored four goals in three postseason games, including the game winner in the Region IV Semifinals against Triton College on a penalty kick to help the Hawks earn a berth in the Region IV Championship. Santiaguillo played strong defense for a Harper unit that surrendered only 16 goals in 15 games.
Hernandez was second on the team with five goals and third with five assists. His best performance was a two-goal effort in the regular season finale against Triton Oct. 15. The Hawks defeated the Trojans 4-1 and earned the No. 3 seed in the Region IV Tournament as a result of the win.
Velazquez was a steady presence in net for the Hawks. In 14 games, he posted a 7-4-3 record with five shutouts and a 0.92 goals against average (14th in nation).
