Burzlaff Named Female Athlete of the Year

PALATINE, IL-  Harper College volleyball student-athlete Ellie Burzlaff has been named the Harper College Female Athlete of the Year.

A year after winning the national championship, Ellie helped lead the Hawks to another national tournament, this time finishing in second place. Ellie was named N4C All-Conference First Team, All-Region IV First Team, All-Region IV Tournament Team, NJCAA Div III All-National Tournament Team, and NJCAA Div. III All-American. She also broke several Harper records while finishing tops on the NJCAA leaderboard in kills, matches, sets, and points.
 
In the classroom, Ellie is a 4.0 student and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She has also been a part of the Harper honors program for the past two years. Ellie is a First Team NJCAA Academic All-American, Academic All-Conference and recipient of the Harper College Athletics Academic Award
 
Ellie Serves in the food pantry at her church- packing and distributing boxes to less-fortunate families in her church and participates in Feed My Starving Children. She is also part of the card writing ministry at her church where she writes and sends letters of encouragement weekly to individuals in church who are going through trials in their lives. Ellie is a mentor for a 5th grader through Kids Hope organization.
 
Ellie has committed to Elmhurst College where she will continue her academics and have the opportunity to play volleyball at the next level.
