Region IV Report
PALATINE, Ill. – Over the last three weeks, Harper College women's basketball player Tamara Zivak (Barrington, Ill. /Barrington) has grown as a player. Now a top scoring option for the Hawks, Zivak was named a NJCAA Region IV Div. III Women's Basketball Player of the Week in today's Region IV Report.
Zivak did her damage in the last week against N4C powerhouses No. 1 Madison College and Rock Valley College. Against Madison, Zivak scored a team-high 10 points and grabbed six rebounds in 33 minutes. At Rock Valley College on Saturday afternoon, the freshman came off the bench and scored 17 points (7-of-11 shooting). She also snagged nine rebounds and blocked three shots in 28 minutes of action.
The forward/center also recently scored a career-high 25 points on Jan. 23 at Milwaukee Area Technical College. In 22 games (six starts) this season, she is averaging 8.1 PPG and 5.1 RPG.
This marks the third time a Hawks player was earned Player of the Week recognition. Guard Jackie Stroud (Norridge, Ill. /Ridgewood) was honored on Dec. 7 and Jan. 4.
