PALATINE, Ill. – The NJCAA national office announced Wednesday the Volleyball Players of the Week for all games played Aug. 20-30. Harper College second-year middle hitter Daniele Sortino (Elk Grove Village, Ill. /Elk Grove) was honored as the NJCAA Division III National Player of the Week.

In 21 sets played in that span, Sortino totaled 61 kills (2.9 kills/set). She had 14 kills against Iowa Lakes Community College Aug. 23 and against Lincoln College Aug. 28. Sortino also had a .346 hitting percentage in those five matches. The Hawks posted a 4-2 record in those matches and are ranked No. 7 in the national poll.
