ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Harper College men's soccer team entered Saturday's match with Rock Valley College looking to stay unbeaten N4C play. While the Hawks could not pull out a victory, they played the Golden Eagles to a 2-2 draw.

Harper (3-1-2, 3-0-1 N4C) got off to a fast start in the sixth minute as midfielder Tafara Musiwa (Zimbabwe/St. Xavier) put the visitors ahead in the early going. He took a feed from Angel Sarti (/Hoffman Estates) and put it past Rock Valley (3-2-1, 1-2-1 N4C) goalkeeper Jesus Galvez for his first goal of 20115.

Alexis Galvez equaled the score midway through the first half with his fourth goal of the season on a shot from the top of the box. Drake Szyp assisted on the goal. Just a minute later, David Rebollar struck for the Golden Eagles. Forward Matt Ajvaszi sent a free kick into the box, and Rebollar put it past Hawks goalkeeper Jacob Goldstein (Buffalo Grove, Ill. /Stevenson ) for his ninth goal of the year to give the home team a 2-1 lead.

With just two minutes left in the first half, the Hawks tied it up as Musiwa scored his second goal of the game off a pass from Fredy Diaz (Wheeling, Ill/Wheeling).

In the second half, Harper had chances to take the lead with 16 total shots in the half but could not find the back of the net. For the game, Harper tallied 24 shots (eight on goal) compared to 17 shots (five on goal) for Rock Valley.

The overtime periods could not settle a win, so the Hawks settled for their second tie of the year. Harper and College of Lake County played to a 0-0 draw in the Hawks' opener Aug. 27.

The Hawks return to the pitch on Wednesday afternoon at 4 PM as they travel to Milwaukee Area Technical College (0-5, 0-4 N4C). The two teams last met on Oct. 18, 2014 in the Region IV Quarterfinals, a game Harper won 7-1.
