2015 All-Region Teams
PALATINE, Ill. – The Harper College softball team recently had two players named to the Region IV All-Region Team for the 2015 softball season. Sophomores Raegan Fingerman (Fox River Grove, Ill./Barrington) and Sam Cummings (Roselle, Ill./Lake Park) were each recognized as First-Team All-Region players.
Fingerman, who was also named First-Team All-Region in 2014, had a monster sophomore season for the Hawks. She hit a team-best .510 with a homer, a team-high 34 RBIs, 26 runs, 49 hits, nine doubles, four triples, a .533 OBP, and .719 slugging percentage in 29 games. Fingerman also endured the rigors of playing the catcher position for much of the season, and she threw out six runners stealing while playing stout defense.
"Raegan understands what it takes to compete at the highest level," said Harper head coach Cray Allen. "She pays attention to details and has learned a great deal in her years at Barrington High School and with her travel ball teams. These experiences were top-notch and have prepared her to excel at the next level."
Cummings played primarily shortstop for the Hawks in 2015. In 27 games, she hit .413 (third on team) with a team-high three homers, 26 RBIs, 30 runs, 33 hits, seven doubles, seven triples, a .495 OBP, and .788 slugging percentage.
"Offensively, Sam just hit and hit and hit," Allen said. "She was a strong athlete that allowed her natural ability to take over games and was also very versatile."
