Region IV Report
PALATINE, Ill. – In the third installment of the NJCAA Region IV Report earlier this week, Harper College women's basketball player Jackie Stroud (Norridge, Ill. /Ridgewood) was named the NJCAA Region IV Division III Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Stroud earned the honor for her play in a Dec. 1 game against Moraine Valley Community College. The freshman guard poured in a career-high 23 points and knocked down five 3-pointers. She also grabbed eight rebounds and had an assist, two steals, and a block in 37 minutes of action.
Stroud shares the honor with Milwaukee Area Technical College's Benetta Lindsey Jones, who scored 17 points on 70 percent shooting to go along with 12 rebounds in a game against the Alverno College JV team.
Stroud's recognition marks the first such honor for a Harper College women's basketball player in the 2015-16 season and first since Joslyn Nicholson of the 2014-15 Hawks was named Player of the Week on Feb. 10 of this year.
