PALATINE, Ill. – For a second straight week, Harper College men's basketball player Davion Benton (Chicago, Ill. /Alcott College Prep) was named the NJCAA Region IV Div. III Player of the Week.
The 6-foot-5 freshman forward averaged 16.5 points and 14.5 rebounds in two games last week against Wilbur Wright College and College of DuPage. Against Wright, he posted a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds. Against DuPage, Benton posted 13 points, tied a career-high with 18 rebounds, and had five steals.
In 19 games this season, Benton is averaging 12.4 PPG (third on team) and 10.3 RPG (18th in nation).
