DES PLAINES, Ill. – Trailing 39-23 at halftime at Oakton Community College, the Harper College women's basketball team mounted a furious comeback to pull out a 70-65 win on Tuesday night.

Harper (5-6) outscored Oakton (4-6) by a 47-26 margin in the second half. Joslyn Nicholson (/Cary-Grove) had another monster game, scoring a career-high 32 points (12-of-21 shooting) to go with 15 rebounds. Ashonte Sims (/Normal Community West) poured in a career-high 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Kim Herzog (/Buffalo Grove) had 10 points and dished out six assists, and Lane Winkler (Arlington Heights, Ill./Rolling Meadows) had 10 points and eight rebounds.

Rebecca Bartnicki led the Raiders with 19 points, and Seanicia Gonzalez had 15. Jazlene Gonzalez scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Harper shot a season-best 49 percent (25-of-51) from the floor while Oakton struggled at 36.1 percent (26-of-72).

The Hawks square off with Kennedy-King College (11-1) in Chicago on Thursday night at 5 PM.
