Scott Plaza enters his third season as the Head Softball Coach for the Hawks. He also serve as the Sports Information/Athletics Assistant.

Plaza has coached 2 All-Conference, 4 All-Region, and 2 NJCAA Region IV All-Tournament players in his two seasons.  In 2017, the Hawks set school records for wins in a season with 19.

Plaza began his college career at Harper College from 2010-12 and played baseball for the Hawks, where he was a First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Region pitcher in 2012. After graduating with an Associate of Arts and Science degree from Harper College, Plaza continued his education as well as baseball playing career at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

In two years, Plaza excelled on the mound. As a junior, he posted a 6-1 record and 2.65 ERA for a Warhawks squad that went 35-9 and won the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. As a senior, Plaza was the staff ace, finishing his senior year with a 9-2 record, 2.53 ERA and 85 strikeouts in 96 innings, earning him First Team All-Conference (WIAC) honors and First Team All-Midwest Region honors.

He capped off his college career in thrilling fashion, pitching the Warhawks to an NCAA Division III World Series title in June of 2014. He was named the NCAA World Series Most Outstanding Player.

Plaza earned his Bachelor of Science in Education in May of 2014 and completed his M.B.A in Business and Marketing Education from UW-W in August of 2015.

Plaza also has an array of experience at the professional and collegiate level. He had a brief stint playing for the Schaumburg Boomers in 2015. Plaza served as a Student Assistant Coach at UW-W from September of 2014 to April of 2015. He also has been involved in the Harper College community, as he was a Program Aide for the InZone Enrichment Camp for three summers (2013, 2014, 2015) and also an Assistant Baseball Coach.
